Biography

Dr. Rakesh Patel is a highly skilled board-certified endocrinologist. He loves to take care of the very difficult cases. He has worked with many patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes on insulin whose diabetes was very difficult to control and has got them back on track. He has worked with patients with non-specific symptoms, weight gain, fatigue and helped them to find the true cause of their issues. He gets these very difficult patients under control because he takes the time to listen to the patients. He truly believes in the quote, “If you listen to your patient long enough, they will tell you what is wrong with them”. He loves solving difficult mysteries.

He has been practicing since 2003 after he started the practice and is the owner of EPC. He very involved in the entire experience of patient care. He works with his staff to give the “treat patients like family” atmosphere. He understands that the most important thing in customer service is how the staff treat the patients.

Dr. Patel loves technology. He has created an EMR in the past. He is working on apps for better patient care and is very focused on reducing cost. He would rather work with patients online via an app to save them an office visit. He respects the patient’s time and understands that patients can’t come into the office all the time. That is also why his patients come early to his appointments because if you have a 2:00 pm appointment, you will be seen by Dr. Patel at 2:00 pm. He hates making patients wait in the waiting and exam rooms. It is one of his biggest pet peeves in private practice.
